Please join us for our first public event at 1853 Studios! It will be a first-time opportunity to peek behind the scenes of all the incredible artists, makers and creative businesses currently resident at 1853 Studios. Come along to learn about the variety of crafts happening in the mill including letterpress, printing, painting, stone carving, leatherwork and so much more! You can even support local artists and makers by purchasing their work directly from their studio.
We will also have a debut exhibition of the 1853 Studios artists in one of our newly finished gallery spaces, as well as workshop activities for all the family brought to you by some of the 1853 Studios makers. Stay tuned for more information and timetable of events.
This is a major event for 1853 Studios (having been pushed back multiple times due to COVID19 and other circumstances) so we’d love to welcome as many people as we can to experience our wonderful, expanding space. Please share far and wide!!
Is there free parking available?
Yes, we have a big free carpark on site (Entrance located on Waddington Street)
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, not all of the studios are wheelchair accessible, but the ones in our new development are. Please get in touch to find out more - luca@1853studios.co.uk
Are the activities at the event free?
YES! Everything is completely free of charge.
Is it easy to get to on public transport?
Yes, from Manchester you can take the tram to Westwood and the studios are a 10 minute walk away.
Will artists take card payments to buy artwork?
Some artists will have card readers to take payments with, but others may not. We would advise bringing cash along just in case.
