balo + Luca Shaw Sound Installation

The event saw the improvising duo Manon Mccoy and Will Shaw (together balo) transform our project space into an immersive, haunting sound installation. Accompanied by Emmy (sound tech) and Tom (stage manager), they delivered epic sounds of harp, drums, percussion, voice and experimental glass bowing!

This was part of their collaboration and mini tour with visual artist Luca Shaw (also our Creative Director!). Luca installed ink painted sheets, interspersed with white ghostly fabrics and created projection mapped live visuals alongside the duo. They also had guest artist duo Bain Mccoy (yes, it was a family affair!) displaying some artwork in the space, acting as a visual supporting act.

The group had already performed the installation in Sheffield before coming to Oldham, and went over to Lancaster Jazz Festival the following day.
